Vanillu was born under the southern sun, in her small workshop in Marseille. She has always been very sensitive to colours, shapes and everything to do with manual creation. Vanillu means pastel shades, applied shapes and lines, and above all a singular paw. She illustrates personalized portraits from photos. She loves to give life to photos with her graphic universe and constantly seeks to expand the supports, the requests, the desires. Creation is without limit.

She also likes to relax with paintings and large formats hanging on the wall.Ā
Why do we LOVE Vanilla
How can you not like Vanilla! (probably one of the first times we’ve made this little joke).
Enough joking, Vanille is a young artist who has developed her own style. Her enigmatic faces are however very expressive and the characters fit perfectly into a softly coloured graphic setting.
The Happy Funky PORTRAIT of Vanilla
ā„ Do you remember your first aesthetic shock?
The Pompidou Centre in Paris, I was young and this gigantic space, these works of art everywhere, these colours. I remember that the works of Niki de Saint Phalle had marked me.
ā„ The artist you would like to meet? What would you say to him?
Van Gogh to paint me the white wall of my room.
ā„ What is your favourite colour? What does it inspire you?
I don’t necessarily have a favourite colour but I love working with pastel colours, I find them soft, soothing.
ā„ Which museum gives you the greatest emotion? Why do you ask?
I love going to the light quarries in Les Baux de Provence. The mixture of music and art projection on the quarries provokes a rather special emotion. Dali and Pink Floyd, what a great mix…
ā„ Which work of art would you buy without hesitation if you had an unlimited budget?
Klimt’s Kiss or Matisse’s Dance.
ā„ In which city do you feel happiest? Why do you think so? Share your 3 favourite addresses.
Marseille!!! Eating a couscous in Noailles, drinking a Ricard in Cours Julien or going for a swim in Malmousque… a bit of a clichĆ©, but such a good life!!!
ā„ What book keeps you up all night?
The disappearance of Stephanie Mayer by Joel Dicker.
ā„ What are your biggest sources of inspiration?
Observing what’s around me, trying, failing, trying again.
ā„ What’s the funkiest thing you’ve done in your life?
Being an artist and doing what I enjoy.
ā„ What is your definition of happiness?
Happiness comes down to few things, good friends, good wine and good music.
