Lison's Happy LIFE

Lison is originally from Reunion. She was born and is lucky enough to live in a magnificent city in the heart of the sumptuous Loire Valley castles in Tours. After graduating as a graphic designer, she had the opportunity to attend a school of visual arts but school was not for her and she chose to finish her training as a great one!

Painting has always been a part of her, but it is in 2019 that she makes the big decision to devote herself fully to it. It was a madness but she doesn’t regret it for anything in the world.

His inspirations come mainly from his mother in Reunion Island. But also through colors, varied landscapes, characters, “visual flavors” also coming from various horizons. Finally, his universe is exoticism and travel through his maternal origins but also through other countries of the sun.

Lison's Happy STYLE

She likes to use different materials, but the base remains acrylic for the material effects. She plays with the thickness of the materials so that the colour rendering is brilliant.

Why do we LOVE Lison

Lison reminds us so much of our darling David Hockney! She dazzles us with her colours and their associations that make us travel to faraway lands.

His characters are stylish and stylish at the same time. She doesn’t hesitate to give you a makeover from head to toe and to dress you up with coordinated fancy accessories. A good way to give free rein to her wildest clothing fantasies!!!

♥ Do you remember your first aesthetic shock?
My first time at the Centre Pompidou, I remember the “slightest” detail.

♥ The artist you would like to meet? What would you say to her?
The great Frida Kahlo whom I would thank for being such an inspiring woman.

♥ What is your favourite colour? What does it inspire you?
I like all colours in general, but if I have to choose just one then I would say blue, it is the colour that is most often found in my paintings and represents summer for me.

♥ Which museum gives you the greatest emotion? Why?
The Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, just the structure alone is a work of art.

♥ Which work of art would you buy without hesitation if you had an unlimited budget?
Without hesitation one of the paintings from the “Anthropometries” series by Yves Klein. I love both the original idea of the work and the final result.

♥ In which city do you feel happiest? Why do you think so? Share your 3 favourite addresses.
It’s not a city but an island… The island of Ré for all my incredible family holiday memories.

My three addresses:

  • Lunch with your feet in the water at Grouin’s cabin.
  • The market of Ars at the foot of the port.
  • La Martinière to eat the best pistachio ice cream.

♥ What book keeps you up all night?
Philippe Labro’s “Chocolate Pickles”.

♥ What are your biggest sources of inspiration?
My mother and her Reunionese origins as well as the great artist Frida Kahlo. Women inspire me in general, I love to paint them.

♥ What’s the funkiest thing you’ve done in your life?
Quit everything to paint.

♥ What is your definition of happiness?
I have several moments of happiness…. The sun when we open the shutters in the morning, my mother’s coconut cake, landing in Reunion Island…
