Jeanne's Happy LIFE

Jeanne, originally French but based in Munich, grew up in a family of artists. After studying business in Europe, she chose marketing to start her career.

In San Francisco where she followed her husband, she finally decided to explore her creative side by going back to design studies. After graduation, she worked for 7 years in the fashion industry as an illustrator, graphic designer and more recently as a photographer.

Jeanne's Happy STYLE

Multidisciplinary, Jeanne is interested in hybrid creation techniques, combining on the same medium the different artistic disciplines she masters. The originality of her style consists in making digital creation coexist with traditional techniques (drawing, photography,…). This mix of “genres” brings a part of realism and a personal touch to creations that are sometimes a little too stereotyped.

Her drawings are stylized, the strokes are frank, certainly influenced by her training as a fashion illustrator.

Why we LOVE Jeanne

Jeanne is a young artist that we have been following for several years. We are fans of her minimalist style and her photographic world.

This touch of everything seduces us with its simple and pure approach, which nevertheless mixes genres and techniques.

Jeanne's Happy Funky PORTRAIT

♥ Do you remember your first aesthetic shock?
In the cradle! I grew up in an artist’s studio amidst my mother’s sculptures. I understood the power of art early on.

♥ The artist you would like to meet? What would you say to her?
Lee Miller (in heaven, perhaps?) I would tell her how much I admire her extraordinary career, all her lives in one, she who was in turn a model, Man Ray’s assistant and muse, a brilliant photographer and then a war reporter. She fought to exist as a woman artist in her own right. I would suggest a little photo trip to the Montparnasse district. She would tell me about the Paris of the Surrealists and the Roaring Twenties!

What is your favourite colour? What does it inspire?
Grey. Located somewhere, halfway or not, between white and grey, sometimes tinged with blue, pink or green… Grey is an answer to everything!

♥ Which museum gives you the greatest emotion? Why do you ask?
The Rodin Museum. I am fascinated by both the physical and psychological power of his sculptures. You expect one of them to move or speak because the features are so precise and you feel as if you can fathom the soul of his models. I also find it moving to admire her work in the place that was her studio. To see his works endure where they were born.

♥ Which work of art would you buy without hesitation if you had an unlimited budget?
Giacometti’s Walking Man.

♥ In which city do you feel happiest? Why or why not? Share your 3 favourite favorite places.
San Francisco. A real favorite. I had the chance to live there for 10 years. The light is unique, the spirits are free and optimistic, a lung of energy and creation. The geographical location of the city, dotted with hills, offers incredible landscapes and perspectives. A nugget!

♥ What book keeps you up all night?
I’m usually fascinated by biographies of artists. The latest ones are Lee Miller and Isadora Duncan. Absolutely captivating journeys of women artists! The Age of Light – Whitney Scharer My Life – Isadora Duncan

♥ What are your greatest sources of inspiration?
Nature, children, moments in life, a look, a smile.

♥ What’s the funkiest thing you’ve done in your life?
That remains to be done and proven!

♥ What is your definition of happiness?
Appreciating what we have achieved, with simplicity, love and honesty. “Happiness is in our hands”. As an artist, this necessarily resonates very strongly!
