♥ Do you remember your first aesthetic shock?
I remember a big shock in primary schools. An artist came to the art class. We were asked to paint the crowd. I drew a few people, each with a different colour of clothing. He came up to me, took my brush and said “we need more people – one, two, three, four…” and with the black paint, in an instant, he scribbled several stick figures that I found horrible. Aesthetic shock. And a desire for murder…

♥ The artist you would like to meet? What would you say to him/her?
Toulouse-Lautrec and I would say “Thank you” to him. He was perhaps my second aesthetic shock, those “drawn” paintings that I learned to appreciate, then I became an absolute fan. I love his characters, their often caricatured rendering.

♥ What is your favourite colour?
I like blues – cobalt, indigo. Calm, melancholy and hopeful at the same time.

♥ Which museum gives you the greatest emotion? Why or why not?
Maybe the Musée d’Orsay in Paris. Because I can find the works of Lautrec 🙂 and Gauguin there, which I also love.

♥ What artwork would you buy without hesitation if you had an unlimited budget?I always hesitate.

♥ In which city do you feel happiest? Why do you think so? Share your 3 favourite addresses.
Maybe Lisbon for the suspended time, a bit dirty but picturesque, the small streets, the smell of grilled sardines and the sound of fado in the evening…

Otherwise I always feel good in Paris, I find inspiration at every street corner 😉

My favourite place: the Marché d’Aligre for the atmosphere, the variety of people you can meet there.

♥ What book keeps you up all night?
Not found yet – every time I read at night I fall asleep after a few pages…

♥ What are your biggest sources of inspiration?
The street and people. I’m addicted to “urban sketching” and if I don’t go out and draw a bit, I’m not well.

♥ What’s the funkiest thing you’ve done in your life?
I took the “One Way” ticket to France without having found a job, without knowing the language too well and without knowing my travel companion too well…

♥ What is your definition of happiness?
Doing what you love with the people you love and living from it!
