Valentine’s Day, the height of kitsch?
Is Valentine’s Day necessarily kitschy and tasteless? Often the romanticism of the occasion turns into a rather ridiculous commercial opportunism.
A few hilarious slips make us cry with laughter! In 2014, Twitter awarded the prize for the worst pun to the company Bull, which entitled its press release: “A calculation plan for tonight…”.
As for Ouest France, we remember its very second-degree article: that single people reassure themselves, the French Federation of Cardiology thinks about them and reminds them that their situation is dangerous for their health. Increased risk of mortality, lowered immune defences, risk of cardiovascular disease due to a lack of sexual intercourse. Everything you need to cheer them up.
Enough jokes, we need entertainment in February. Christmas is already far away, the kings’ pancakes are largely digested, winter is dragging on and we don’t see the end of the health crisis!
Whether you’ve just met each other or whether you’ve been married, pacsed, accompanied for 1, 5 or 20 years, it’s essential to regularly tell people you love that you love them.
We all constantly need attractive perspectives, delicate attentions, signs of love and affection, so let’s be kitsch, let’s be overly romantic, let’s be thoughtful more than reasonable and let’s cover our loved ones with nice gifts that will remind them how much we care about them.
